As a fitness expert for the past 20 years, I am passionate about helping adults and youth become more active and healthy, and to train athletes to excel in their sport.
My experience in the fitness industry began as a group exercise instructor and quickly combined personal training, athletic training, as well as fitness director in most of the top facilities in Calgary, AB.In educating myself and my clients, I have obtained certification from some of the top certification bodies in North America. I am a certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise, a certified Group Exercise Instructor through Can Fit Pro, and a Medical Exercise Specialist through the American Academy of Health, Fitness and Rehabilitation Professionals. Safety of my clients has been of utmost concern to me throughout my career. So much so, that when deciding on exercises or exercise equipment, the first question I will ask myself before proceeding is, "Risk vs. Benefit?" I will not risk my client's health for a risky exercise or equipment piece, and it must provide benefit for my client's to reach their goals. This leads me to the Fitness Outdoors phenomenon - an amazing idea and concept - which combines fitness opportunity using the key components of fitness: strength, endurance, and flexibility with safety. Many people feel that it's hard to get the activity levels they need because exercising is inconvenient, they have no time, and it is too expensive. Fitness Outdoors eliminates these obstacles because these parks can be found right in communities, so it is a short distance to drive and in many cases, people can walk, bike or jog to them. Also, many of these parks are free to use or offered at a substantially lower cost than the traditional gym. What I like best about the Fitness Outdoors product line is the effort placed on safety. Each piece of exercise equipment comes with easy-to-understand instructional signs; the equipment has no mechanical systems to maintain; users apply their own body weight for resistance; backed by an expert in the playground industry. See you outdoors! Patty Reilly |
